I Long

I long to say how deeply I care,
To get lost in her eyes, that adoring stare,
To wrap her up in loving arms,
Embracing beauty, her many charms.

I long to express the feelings I hold,
To admit them now, courageously and bold,
To surpass my passions and find true bliss,
Glimpsing heaven while waiting for her kiss.

Truly I tell you I haven’t said a thing
Fear takes hold and I can’t even sing
Yet to feel her heart beat over mine,
Is to find on earth that love so divine.

I long to say it, to finally be free,
To have her echo my longing back to me,
To love her now, by God I always will,
Living by the moment as time stands still.

I long to sing of love to the world
To let sore hearts be free and unfurled
To hold her soft hand, keeping her near,
Away from sorrow, weeping, and fear.

Truly I tell you I haven’t said a thing
Fear takes hold and I can’t even sing
Yet to take a breath and close my eyes,
Is to finally wake up and realize

Time marches on and life does too
Wait any longer, she’ll never have a clue
Even if after ends unhappily
I’d rather her merry, even without me

Truly I tell you I finally said that thing
Freed from fear, I began to sing
I took that breath after closing my eyes
Thank God, oh my God, she finally realized

I long to sing just one more line
To warn you not to waste more time
To discover if your dream is really true,
Tell her now, since she might just love you too.

Loosen Weight

Shadows seep in through the night
Soon dawn comes to burn so bright

Arms wide open to embrace
Shining wonder in your face

Must wait
A just wait

Yearning for the love yet shared
This long day we too just beared

Step in closer, hold me tight
Closer still, come and unite

Can’t wait
A just wait

Dooming doubt now casts us free
Of the hope that once cured me

Something too I must yet try
This dark night before I die

Loosen weight
It cannot wait

God forgave me, Lord oh my
Now it’s true I shall not die

Marvel in good morning’s glow
Comes now time to reap and sow

No wait
No weight

The Iconoclast

The Iconoclast

Gazing at you
An ancient Icon
Glimmering artifact
Memories of us and then
A lullaby
Enchanting me as I lay burning

Was it true?
Perhaps
Were we happy?
Say yes

Yet now
Theophilus toils under stone
And earth
Searching for a beating heart
Pondering
A Temple in ruin

Beside a Lone Hill

Beside a Lone Hill

The Woman
Bother Not
Her Solo Flight
The Fortress
Of Solitude
This Dark Night
The Hill
Standing Free
Alone With Me
The Eyes
Lit Bright
Veiled Inside, See
The Wanderer
Roar Silent
With Iron Will
The Pair
Come Together
Tell me Hill

The Man
Speaking Deep
In Sixteen Ears
The Sleepless
Fearful Journey
With No Tears
The Raw
Sandy Place
Where We Share
The Spirit
Deliver Us
Handle with Care
The Life
Now Present
Before Us To
The God
Made Man
Recast Us New

Off-To-Maybe

Off-To-Maybe

Off the radar
Off the charts
Gone this long
And now we part

To the hills
To the sea
Please come back
One day, marry me

Maybe not now
Maybe not then
Someday soon, perhaps
God only knows when

Not One

Not One

I didn’t recognize a speck
Not one
Not one speck

I didn’t recognize your face
It’s your face
No it’s not, no it’s not

You washed it
You painted it
You what?

You filmed it
You buried it
Then what?

You saw a way
Ran away
Lost your way
